Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate

The Shrine Church, done in the Romanesque style, is the heart of the Shrine. It is the goal of every pilgrim to enter the Church and to pray there, especially before the Blessed Sacrament reposed in the tabernacle at the center of the Sanctuary.
The statue of Mary Coredemptrix and the dead body of Jesus lying before Her dominates the main altar. In a stately ambience which inspires devotion and love, Our Lady stretches forth her arms in an act of supplication and offering in loving acceptance of the Father’s will in sacrificing her Son for the salvation of humanity, uniting herself to His sufferings, thus meriting for herself the title Coredemptrix.
Pilgrims will come to the Shrine Church, most of all, to receive God's forgiveness in the Sacrament of Penance and to participate in the Holy Mass. Through her beautiful image high above the altar of sacrifice, Our Lady Mary Coredemptrix will continue her mission of bringing Christ to us and bringing us to Christ.
The long and wide nave which has four rows of seats can contain around 700 persons . Along the side aisles are many glass windows which will be changed in the future with devotional images of the life of the Blessed Mother for the pilgrims edification.
The function hall beneath of the Shrine Church is the local of many inspirational talks and spiritual presentations.
The corner stone was blessed and placed by Rev. Fr. Gabriele Maria Pellettieri, co-founder and vicar general of the Institute, on August 2, 2006. Construction for this beautiful church was begun on August 22, 2006. The church was dedicated in November 18, 2007.
